Nominations have opened for the 2012 btTB Travel Management Awards, the only independent awards open to all industry players and recognising excellence in corporate travel.

At a time of enormous economic stress and growing cost pressure, the demands on all sides of the supply chain have increased. Despite the challenges, there is still plenty of innovation, and the awards will again recognise buyers and suppliers which have found opportunities in hardship and met the needs of all stakeholders.

BTTB would like to thank Qantas for their support as sponsors of the Buyer Award and the Awards Dinner.

As in the past, there are two award categories – buyers and suppliers.

Buyer awards:

This category is open to travel managers and buyers responsible for the procurement and administration of travel in their organisation. The award will recognise policy and compliance, supplier relationships, technology adoption, social and environmental responsibility and innovation. It will take size into consideration, recognising that more innovation is required to deliver benefits on a small budget.

Buyers can nominate themselves or they can be nominated by their supply partners. However, all submissions are the responsibility of the nominee – and while suppliers are welcome to assist, submissions must be completed by the corporate travel manager.

Besides a special trophy, the winning organisation will receive one business class air ticket anywhere on the Qantas network for an educational conference or trip. The prize is intended to raise the professionalism of business travel, not to defray routine travel costs nor for leisure purposes, and the winner will need to justify the ticket request.

Supplier awards:

Recognising that best practice in travel management is the result of collaboration between buyer and supplier, a number of supply categories are also included in the award process. Here, suppliers are nominated by their clients who need to justify the nomination and provide examples of exceptional value-adding.

Awards are presented in the following categories:

  • Travel Management Services – generally travel management companies or individual agency employees.
  • Expense Management Services – card providers, expense management system providers or payment services.
  • Technology Services – suppliers of any technology used in the end-to-end travel management process.
  • Traveller Services – providers of traveller safety and traveller information services which enhance the traveller experience. (This has been broadened from the previous Traveller Safety Services category)

The 2012 BTTB Travel Management Awards will be presented at a gala dinner on 2nd May, venue TBC, Sydney. (Following the 1st Day of the 2012 BTTB Australia Conference)

We look forward to receiving your entries.
